<p>PURPOSE:To provide the subject new intermediate compound useful for producing a new therapeutic agent exhibiting a diuretic effect, an antihypertensive effect, an antiedemic effect and an ascitic fluid-reducing effect. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R<1> is a 1 to 8C alkyl, a 1 to 4C halogenated alkyl, a 3 to 6C cycloalkyl, a lower alkoxy, benzyl, styryl, naphthyl, pyridyl, phenyl which may be substituted, etc.; R<2> and R<3> are each H or methyl; R<5> is H, a halogen, OH, methylthio, methylsulfinyl, N,N-dimethylamino, NO2, acetyl, methyl, CF3, etc.; R<6> is a halogen, OH, methylthio, methylsulfinyl, NO2, methyl methoxycarbonyl, methoxy, etc.), e.g. 6-chloro-1-(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl)-2,3- dihydro-4(1H)-quinoline. The exemplified compound mentioned above can be obtained by reacting 6-chloro-2,3-dihydro-4(1H)-quinoline with 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl chloride. A new therapeutic agent of formula II (R<4> is carboxymethyl, sulfo, methanesulfonyl, etc.) can be obtained from a compound of formula I.</p> |
