PURPOSE:To automatically determine the color of the periphery of a character and make a composite display without placing a burden on an operator as to the character image composition and display device that superimposes and displays a background image and characters one over the other on a display unit which is driven on the window base for display operation. CONSTITUTION:As for the characters inputted through a character input part 11 and the image inputted through an image input part 12, a time-base editing part 13 extracts the peripheral parts of the characters and detects color information on the corresponding part peripheries of the characters and a periphery color determination part 15 determines a contrast color according to the detected color information and color information on the background image; and the peripheral parts of the characters in the background image are changed in color by using the determined symmetrical color and then superimposed to make the composite display. |
