PURPOSE:To reduce staining in a device by simple constitution and to eliminate the excessive consumption of toner by obtaining such constitution that an electrical conductive layer is provided on the non-contact side of a boundary between a contact area with which the developer of a photosensitive body is brought into contact and the non-contact area. CONSTITUTION:The electrical conductive layer 10e is vapor-deposited on the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive drum 1 so as to straddle the contact area A and the non-contact area B of the developer 29. Since the layer 10e is provided in such a state, the layer 10e itself is electrostatically charged by the developer 29 existing on the layer 10e when a developing bias is turned on and the potential thereof becomes identical to the potential which is electrostatically charged to the photosensitive layer. By setting the length of a part C occupying the area B of the layer 10e such an extent that toner is not moved, the developer 29 on the layer 10e can be sufficiently recovered by a developing device. Besides, since the area A is actually changed a little, a sufficient space need to be taken for a part occupying the area A and the area B of the layer 10e in order to always straddle the boundary. |
