PURPOSE:To prevent turning up of the blades of the cleaners of units alignment at the time of or concentration adjustment when the power source is turned on or a copying operation has not been carried out for a long time or in the case where there is a unit which not operating in monochrome mode or three- color mode, in a color image forming device provided with image forming units for each color. CONSTITUTION:When the power source is turned on, before an object image is formed, an exposure device 6 is lit for the prescribed length of time, thereby forming a latent image on a photosensitive body 7. After the prescribed length of time, the drive of the roller of a developing unit 9 is started to form a toner image on the latent image on the photosensitive body 7. At the time, when the toner image reaches a sheet carrying/transfer belt 3, the corotron of a transfer unit 10 is lit for the prescribed length of time. By making the lighting time of the corotron shorter than that of the exposure device 6, with a part of the toner image left on the photosensitive body 7, a part of the remaining is transferred to the sheet carrying/transfer belt 3, and is sent to cleaning blades 12 and 14. |
