The modulator consists of an elastic vane (10) to vary the aperture of a fluid flow passage, held between two supports (6, 9) which can vary the camber of the vane in relation to an initial position. Each support has a wedge-shaped groove which receives one end of the vane, which is compressed between them. The modulator also has elastic elements of greater rigidity than the vane, extending between the supports. One of the supports can have a piezoelectric or magnetostriction element (8) which varies the pressure on the vane from the support by regulating an electric current. The vane is made from a copper alloy, e.g. with bronze and beryllium, so that it is virtually insensible to temperature fluctuations. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fluid distribution modulator of reduced weight and dimensions, e.g. for robot equipment.
