The needle presser consists of a toroidal housing (13) which is interrupted by a gap (12). The inner edge of the housing is separated from its support plate (10) by a circumferential gap. A radial arm (15) attached to a central rotatable boss projects through the gap and presses against a curved bar which is installed inside the torus and drives the needle into the body organ in order to form the stitches. The central box is connected to an outer boss (16) which is rotated alternately in opposite directions through a small angle by a cable forming part of a mechanism (31,32,42) attached to the handle (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - For forming stitches in a hollow internal body organ. The instrument can be used for forming a single stitch or for forming a seam.
