摘要 An arrangement for determining the partial pressure of a designated gas in a gas mixt. has a first gas sensor of material with a conductivity or ohmic resistance which varies with the gas partial pressure to be determined. A second gas sensor has a stabilising system ensuring that it is surrounded by a gas constantly at the same partial pressure as the designated gas, but is otherwise exposed to the same ambient conditions as the first gas sensor. The measurement signal of the second gas sensor is subtracted from that of the first gas sensor to give an evaluation signal which is proportional to the gas partial pressure to be determined and which is independent of the gas mixt. temp. Also claimed is a method of using the above sensor arrangement for respiration monitoring, in which periodic oxygen partial pressure changes of exhaled air are determined and irregularities of the period are evaluated.
