The compact power unit has a hydraulic pump (19) with multiple pistons (18) providing a controlled hydraulic pressure, and with swashplate regulation. The hydraulic pressure drives a similar shaped motor (M) with the output shaft coupled to the motor. The pump and motor have their axes orthogonal and are coaxial with the respective input- and output drive shafts. The hydraulic flow control is via a profiled plate with integral ducts forming one side of the compact housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Lawn mowers, small equipment. Compact, infinitely variable drive.
