PURPOSE:To provide nickel hydroxide powder used for nickel electrodes, facilitating the control of the particle diameters, permitting to freely select the kinds and amounts of different metals added for the improvement in the characteristics of the powder, and having a high utilization rate as an electrodeactivating substance. CONSTITUTION:The production of nickel hydroxide powder having an average particle diameter of 1-100mum comprises treating a nickel salt aqueous solution with ammonia, treating the formed nickel ammonia complex with an caustic alkali, precipitating the produced nickel hydroxide having an average particle diameter of <=0.5mum, filtering the precipitates, drying the obtained product and subsequently granulating the obtained nickel hydroxide powder. |
