PURPOSE:To provide the new compound having an excellent antibacterial activity and a high concentration in blood and useful as a therapeutic medicine for various bacterial infectious diseases. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I (X is C, N; Y is S, O; R<1> is H, lower alkyl; R<2> is H, ester-forming group; R<3>, R<4> are H, halogen, lower alkyl, OH, amino, or R<3> and R<4> are H, halogen, lower alkyl, OH, amino, R<3> and R<4> together form benzene ring or pyridine ring, etc.), e.g. 7-{(Z)-2-(2-aminoazol-4- yl)-2-methoxyiminoacetoamide}-3-(benzooxazol-2-yl)thio-3-cephem-4-carb oxylic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II (R<5> is amino-protecting group; R<6> is ester-forming group; W is halogen or releasable group) as a starting substance to substitution, oxidation, reduction, protecting group-removing reaction, acylation, etc., to introduce into a compound of formula III (R<7> is amino-protecting group; R<8> is the same as R<1>, a group protecting an oxime group), and subsequently removing the protecting groups R<6>, R<7>, R<8> of the compound of formula III. |
