摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve control accuracy by complementing each other in the form of absorbing errors of one side by the other side in controls using a deviation model equation and an edge drop predicting model equation. CONSTITUTION:Sheet rolling is executed with a rolling mill having work rolls of which the end parts of a roll barrel are tapered toward the tip and a shifting mechanism with which these work rolls are driven in the direction along the barrel axis. The edge drop predicting model equation that shows the relationship of the edge drop rx of a rolled stock on the inlet side of rolling mill, amount HCWs of the roll shift of the rolling mill and edge drop Dx of the rolled stock on the outlet side of rolling mill is determined. The amount HCWSO of roll shift that is necessary to get the required edge drop DXO on the outlet side is calculated and set to the rolling mill. Model parameters Ex are updated by the exponential smoothing in the direction that the deviation between the edge drop Dxt on the outlet side during rolling and its target value DXO is reduced based on the both values Dxt and Dxo. In this way, stable edge drop control with high control accuracy can be realized.</p>
