The adaptor consists of a hollow body (5), a cylindrical sealing joint (12) mounted in the body (5),and a set of anchoring claws (13) designed to make contact and grip the connector (2).There is a control sleeve (20) to move axially in relation to the body (5),and a ring (31) to compress the joint (12) and to act as a reaction stop for the anchoring claws (13) when clamped onto the connector (2). This anchoring action of the jaws is effected by the screwing up of the sleeve (20) on the body (5) which forces the anchoring claws (13) to make a metal to metal contact with the connector (2). This augments the resistance to pull-out or torsional forces that may be applied to the adaptor. Use/Advantage - A connector adaptor for gas appliances when converting the feed pipe from a flexible rubber tube to a flexible pipe which has a longer useful life.
