HF electric field generating device - increases calorific value of oil, diesel and gasoline fuels

A device increases the calorific value of oil, diesel or gasoline fuels, which contain molecules with electric dipole moments and which have suspended matter esp. in the form of crystallites, by subjecting the liq. fuel (1) to an l.f. alternating electric field in a certain frequency range pref. of 1-10 (esp. 2) kHz. The device may comprise a coil (4) which is mounted coaxially on the electrically conductive fuel feed pipe (2) and which is supplied with current pulses pref. of rectangular pulse shape. Alternatively, the liq. is surrounded by piezoelectric foil or probes are immersed in the liq.. A filter is pref. provided for removing suspended matter downstream of the device. USE/ADVANTAGE - The device is used for treating fuels for engines and boilers. It causes disruption of suspended matter to prevent deposition in the fuel lines and causes disruption of chain-like cluster structures to reduce surface tension, so that smaller diameter droplets are produced on fuel injection to achieve improved combustion efficiency.
