PURPOSE:To obtain the strength equal to that given by the roof rails on both sides of a top by joining an inner panel to a reinforcing panel, and the inner panel to an outer panel, so that a fixed top has a double structure with a box-formed cross section. CONSTITUTION:The fixed top of an automobile is constituted by a front roof A, a center roof B and a rear roof C, while the roofs A, B and C are constituted by three layers of an outer panel 31, a reinforcing panel 32 and an inner panel 33. Moreover, the panel 32 has a longitudinal section almost in the shape of reverse U, and the reverse U-shaped part 34 thereof is made to have such a size that the part can be fit freely to a concavity 31' at the back of the reverse U-shaped part in the front panel of the panel 31. In the top surface of the reverse U-shaped part 34, the stopper part 35 of the panel 33 is so formed that it has concavity downward. By this constitution, the strength equal to that given by the roof rails on both sides of the top can be obtained. |
