Method for improving the quality of a speech signal in a coding system using linear predictive coding

A method of speech coding based upon linear prediction. The parameters describing short-term spectrum behaviour of the speech are processed in a non-linear modification block within the receiver, said modification block effecting a non-linear modification of the parameters with the help of a median operation, the modification being carried out only when a significant amount of transmission errors appears in the parameters.
