METHOD FOR STORING DOWNWARD TELEGRAPHIC MESSAGE SCREEN DATA OF TERMINAL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To shorten the time from key operation by an operator to the end of a screen display when the operator displays a down telegraphic message from a host on a screen in order. CONSTITUTION:Respective data of 1st-3rd screens are stored in a screen data storage area 20 and the 1st screen is displayed. When a next-screen key is pressed in this state, the 2nd screen is displayed. When the next-screen key is further pressed, the 3rd screen is displayed, but a 1st-screen data storage area in the storage area 20 is cleared and an upward telegraphic message 6 showing that the storage area 20 is empty is sent to the host 200. The host 200 sends screen data as a downward telegraphic message 5 to the terminal device 100. The terminal device 100 stores the screen data of a 4th screen in the empty area. When the operator presses the next-screen key, the data of the 4th screen data are displayed on the screen immediately.
