PURPOSE:To utilize the communication function of a mobile telephone set on portable telephone sets of various kinds of shape in portable telephone mounting type communication equipment in which the portable telephone set can be mounted on the communication equipment main body of the mobile telephone set. CONSTITUTION:The communication equipment main body 1 is provided with a radio transmission/reception part 2 to which an antenna 1a is connected, a baseband processing part 3, a communication control part 4, a transmitter/ receiver part 5, and an external connection terminal 6. A buffer device 7 connected to the external connection terminal 6 with a connector 7a is equipped with an identification means 9 which connects the connector 8b of the portable telephone set 8 to a connector 7b, and is composed to conform to the shape of the portable telephone set 8 so as to hold it, and identifies the communication condition of the subscriber number. etc., of the portable telephone set 8, and a control signal sending means 10 which transfers an identification result by the identification means 9 to the communication equipment main body 1.
