PURPOSE:To form an image free from irregularity in transfer and irregularity in density even when irregularities in charges in the electrification of a transfer belt occur because of a charge pattern, etc. CONSTITUTION:In the normal rotation of the transfer belt 17 after its reverse rotation, a surface potential sensor 51 detects potential on the belt. The output is inputted to an inversion amplifier 56 via a low-pass filter 52, an A/D converter 53, a delay circuit 54, and a D/A converter 55. A waveform is inverted in order to impress a voltage to a transfer roller 21 so that irregularity in the potential of the surface of the transfer belt 17 is eliminated. Then, this output is inputted to a high voltage power source 57 used for transfer and the output is corrected. Thus, irregularity in transfer resulting from irregularity in the potential of the transfer belt 17 is corrected. |
