PURPOSE:To remove NOx by direct decomposition treatment by bringing a removing agent into contact with a nitrogen oxide contained gas, thereby removing nitrogen oxides at a specific temp. or above. CONSTITUTION:The removing agent for nitrogen oxides consisting substantially of a compound expressed by formula MCeOx (in the formula, x is 1-3, M is at least one kind of metal selected from barium, strontium, magnesium) is used and is brought into contact with a nitrogen oxide contained gas while setting the temp. of the removing agent at >=700 deg.C to remove nitrogen oxides. |
