<p>PURPOSE:To quickly eliminate surge pressure, upon occurrence of the surge pressure in output from a pressure control valve, by causing fluid pressure to act on a damper chamber and a pressure receiving chamber at each end of a spool via an orifice, in response to the surge pressure. CONSTITUTION:A flow control valve A used for the control of a vehicular clutch C comprises a. solenoid proportional pressure control valve 1 to receive pressure fluid from an operation fluid supply source B and control the flowrate of the fluid supplied to a clutch pack D, and an auxiliary valve 2 connected to the valve 1 in parallel. The valve 1 has a spool 16 moved rightward on a force corresponding to an area difference between the sides of the first and second lands 21 and 22 multiplied by the pressure of the second port 14. The longitudinal hole 25 of the spool 16 is communicated with a damper chamber 20 via the first orifice 28. In this case, a pressure receiving chamber 31 is formed at the right end periphery of the spool 16, and a flow passage 29 for communicating the chamber 31 with the hole 25 is formed.
