PURPOSE:To efficiently clean the surface of a mold in a simple manner by inserting a rubber composition for use in cleaning, prepared by bonding a specific cleaning composition, into a mold to heat it so that contaminated matters are adsorbed on said rubber composition and taking out thereafter said composition out of the mold. CONSTITUTION:A mold becomes contaminated by repeatedly vulcanizing unvulcanized rubber items. In order to clean the mold, at first, a sheet-shaped cleaning rubber composition having specific composition is bonded to the surface of an unvulcanized rubber item to be brought into contact with the mold to form a cleaning rubber item. Next said item is inserted into the mold to heat it, so that contaminated matters are adsorbed on said item, following which the item is removed from the mold to remove the contaminated matters from the surface of the mold. In this case, the cleaning rubber composition is prepared by mixing 2-30 pts.wt. amino alcohol, 5-50 pts.wt. glycol, and 30-90 pts.wt. adsorbent with 100 pts.wt. natural rubber or synthetic rubber. |
