PURPOSE:To facilitate and secure installation to even a portable terminal device as to the installing method for the system generation of the portable terminal device. CONSTITUTION:For the installing method for the terminal device of the system consisting of the terminal device 5 which has a ROM as a 1st area 1 and a RAM as a 2nd area 2 and a 3rd area, and a host device 6 having a storage area 4 stored with an initializing program for the 3rd area, a copy program, an application program, and a start program for the application program, an OS and the installation program are stored in the 1st area 1, and when the system is started up, the installation program is executed to read the initializing program out of the storage area and writes it in the 2nd area; and this initializing program is executed to initialize the 3rd area 3, the copy program is read out and written in the 2nd area 2, and this copy program is executed to read the start program and application program, which are written in the 3rd area 3 of the terminal device 5.
