PURPOSE:To save space, to efficiently cool a toner recovering box part and to miniaturize a device by providing a duct under the toner recovering box part and sucking or sending air through the duct by a fan. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a photosensitive drum part 1a for transferring a toner image on a recording medium, and the toner recovering box part 1b which is disposed on a fixing device 2 thermally fixing the transferred toner on the recording medium and where residual toner on the drum 1a, which is recovered, is accumulated. The fan 3 is installed on one side part of the image forming device, and the duct 4 whose one open end face is opposed to the fan 3 and whose other open end face is opposed to the other side part of the image forming device is installed under the box part 1b of a process cartrdige 1. By driving the fan 3, the air is moved through the duct 4 to cool the base of the box part 1b of the process cartridge 1, thereby preventing temperature rise in the box part 1b. |
