PURPOSE:To automatically correct the output of the high voltage power source of a transfer/separation device to the suitable one. CONSTITUTION:A toner image is formed by sticking toner to an electrostatic latent image, formed on a photosensitive drum 2 by an electrifying device 3 and an exposing means 5, by a developing device 6. The toner image is transferred to a transfer material P and the transfer material P is separated from the photosensitive drum 2, by a post-electrifier 7, a transfer electrifier 9 and a separation electrifier 10. A density sensor 51 is arranged on the upstream side of the post-electrifier 7 and a separation sensor 53 and a density sensor 52 are arranged on its downstream side. Whether the transfer material P is satisfactorily separated or not is judged by the sensors. The output ranges of the sensors 51 and 52, when the separation is satisfactory, are detected. The outputs of the electrifiers 7, 9 and 10 are corrected by a controller, 60 via a high voltage power source 61 so that the density sensors 51 and 52 fall within the output ranges, that is, so that transfer/separation is always suitably carried out. |
