PURPOSE:To obtain images having excellent quality by applying voltage having the same polarity as toner to record electrodes for a non-recording part on an image carrier body so as to perform cleaning of the record electrodes simultaneously with recording. CONSTITUTION:Record electrodes 11...11n are arranged in a line and each electrode is made to be an individual record unit. Recording data are inputted to a shift register 61 together with a control clock and outputted to a latch 62 when the recording data are aligned with the record electrodes. These recording data are respectively outputted to a drive circuit consisting of two transistors 631, 633, an inverter 632, a high voltage negative power source 51, and a high voltage positive power sources 52 from the latch 62. When the recording data from the latch 62 is ON i.e., '1', the transistor 631 is turned on and the high voltage of the high voltage positive power source 52 is applied to a corresponding record electrode. On the other hand, when a non-recording signal '0' is outputted from the latch 62, the transistor 633 is turned on through the inverter 632 and the high voltage of the high voltage negative power source 51 is applied to a corresponding record electrode. |
