发明名称 MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF COLLISION SENSOR FOR AIR BAG DEVICE
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting, to enable rapid detection of collision, and to prevent malfunction of a collision sensor by a method wherein a collision sensor is arranged at a given height on the outer surface of a car body and molding material is disposed in a manner to conceal the collision sensor. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of collision sensors 14 are mounted at the same height as that of a side impact beam 12 and on the outer surface of the outer panel 11 of a side door, and the outside thereof is covered with a side protection molding 15 made of rigid rubber. When collision of a vehicle occurs, the collision sensor 14 is nipped between the molding 15 and the side impact beams 12 and switched ON. A collision detecting signal is fed to an air bag control device. In this case, in case the number of the collision sensors exceeds a given value, it is decided that a collision occurs. Since the collision sensors 14 are disposed to the most control device. In part of the side of a car body, collision is promptly detected, and an air bag can be rapidly developed. Further since the collision sensor 14 are covered with the molding 15, malfunction owing to lowering of insulation is prevented from occurring.</p>
