PURPOSE:To improve safety and accelerate the restoration to the normal drive by automatically applying brake when the possibility of the contact with an obstacle is judged from the distance from the obstacle and the relative speed, turning OFF a clutch, and returning the clutch to an operation enabled state after the establishment of the returning condition after the application of a brake power. CONSTITUTION:A calculation unit 120 calculates the distance from an obstacle and the relative speed by using laser radar units 122 and 124, and judges the possibility of the contact with an obstacle. When the possibility of contact is judged, a brake is operated by a brake pressure adjusting mechanism 54. Accordingly, when a brake power is operated, a clutch is put into OFF state through a clutch ON/OFF mechanism by a clutch control unit. Then, the operation of a brake power completes, and when the prescribed returning conditions for the speed change gear position, traveling state, etc., are established, the clutch OFF state is released by the clutch ON/OFF mechanism, and a clutch ON/OFF control enabled state is restored. |
