Switch for engaging and disengaging a reactor, mounted in a multi-phase high-voltage electrical network, in which there is provision, between the reactor and a part of the network, for switch poles, each with at least two switching chambers (11, 12; 13, 14) the poles being mounted in series, with which chambers at least two varistors (15, 16, 17, 18, 19) are mounted in parallel, the varistors being mounted in series. The two varistors and the two switching chambers are joined together in the form of a network supplied by the high-voltage network, in which, in the event of re-priming of a part (11, 12) of the two switching chambers, the energy which is sent to the varistors (17, 18, 19), mounted in parallel with the switching chambers (13, 14), without re-priming, is less than that of a reactor switch with a network supplied in the same way, but in which each of the two switching chambers is bridged by at least one of the two varistors at least. <IMAGE>
