<p>PURPOSE:To provide an endoscope with a simplified construction of a hardness varying means by enabling5he varying of the hardness of a flexible inserting part of the endoscope with a simple operation. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized elastic tube 22 is covered with a tubular screen body 23 and a fluid pressure artificial muscle 20 which tensions from the slacking thereof being pressurized by a fluid in the elastic tube 22 is inserted to be placed in a flexible tube 6 of the endoscope along the length thereof. The elastic tube 22 of the fluid pressure artificial muscle 20 is provided with a means for supplying or draining the fluid. Thus, with the tensioning and the slackening of the fluid pressure artificial muscle 20. the hardness of the flexible tube is adjusted.</p> |
