For the production of expanded components, a strip (11) of a continuous tangle of filaments, which holds the reinforcing mats (43, 47) in place and at a distance, is placed in an injection mould (32). The reinforcing mats are thereby positioned in the outer skin region of the finished product, without being swept by the foaming components introduced through the injection jet (38) into some outlying region of the mould. As a result, components which are very lightweight and are capable of withstanding high loads are obtained, which can be used everywhere where low weight and high rigidity, as well as cheap production matter. <IMAGE> |
