Appts. for sepn. of solid and/or liquid particles from a quantity of gas, having a first impingement baffle against which the prevailing gas flow is incident, so that on impingement the solid and/or liquid particles are at least partially removed and flow to a take-off facility. The appts. has a device (3) to impose a directional bias on the flow, with a second impingement baffle (4) provided along this gas flow direction against which solid and/or liquid particles impinge and are at least partially removed, and which reverses the flow path so that it is directed on to the first impingement baffle (1).
