The brush has a hollow tube (3) which is split along its length (4). A flat open ring (6) is held in an annular groove (7) round the tube. It holds the tube in a protective sleeve (2) and expands radially when the handle (5) is introduced in the tube. A ring (11) has notches round its periphery to hold the rods of the brush (12) and is joined to the tube. The open ring has an annular ring (9) on its lower surface which rests against the end (2a) of the sleeve and holds a cap (1) on the sleeve.
