<p>A solar cell array (10) deployable from a folded flat triangular structure to a substantially circular deployed shape. A static panel (12) supports a hub (13). The hub (13) drives a pivot panel (21), and a plurality of intermediate spars (22) rotate freely around the hub (13). A foldable gore (26) is fitted between each pair of adjacent spars (22) except between the static panel (12) and pivot panel (21). Rotation in the opposite direction opens the gores to form tensioned membranes between the spars. A reversible power source drives the hub.</p> |
