<p>Aminoalkanesulphonates or hydroxyammoniumalkanesulphonates which are useful in detergents, cosmetics, textiles, and antistatic agents in synthetic resins and polymers, are prepd. by reacting sultones of formula: R1- H-(CH2)n-CHR2-SO2- (where R1 is alkyl; R2 is H or alkyl, and n is 1 or 2; the sum of the C-atoms of R1 and R2 being 4-27) with 1.05-5 molar proportions of an amine at 50-200 degrees C for 0.5-50 hrs., and treating the resulting aminoalkanesulphonic acid or sulphobetaine with alkali.</p> |
