The security mechanism for a window or door has an actuating mechanism on the hinging part(2) and anchoring members on the frame(2). A baseplate(5) fixed to the inside surface of the hinging part and with a bearing(7) for a pivoting cover-plate(6). Locking bars (10,11) slide in opposite ends(8,9) of the baseplate and are actuated by portions of the cover-plate. In the extended position the bars protrude beyond the edges(35,36) of the hinging portion and engage in the anchoring members(16,17) on the frame at the top and bottom. The members are at the side of the frame furthest from the door- or window-hinges(18). ADVANTAGE - Engages all locking devices simultaneously, is simple to instal, and only slightly affects the appearance of the window or door. |
