<p>Moulding abrasion resistant articles The article is made by applying a first elastomeric layer to a release coated mould, curing the layer to a tack free state, applying a second elastomeric layer, deposited fibres on the second layer whilst it is still liquid and working the fibres into the layer so that some project from the surface of the layer, applying at least one internal resin layer to the article and finally curing the composite thus formed such an article has an abrasion resistant surface of exactly the desired dimensions and does not involve an after moulding coating process. The internal resin layer or layers may include reinforcements the elastomer is pref. polyurethane and the resin is pref. a polyester.</p> |
