PURPOSE:To achieve power saving by improving fixation properties and heat development properties when a heater is continuously operated at the rise time after the energization of a power source, thereby reducing the rise time. CONSTITUTION:A heating/fixing roller 1 incorporates a heating/fixing heater gamma, such as a halogen heater, and rotates counter-clockwise. A pressure roller 2 is brought into pressure-contact with the heating/fixing roller 1 and rotates clockwise while following the rotation of the heating/fixing roller 1. Below the pressure roller 2, a heater member 30 is arranged via a shielding plate. The heater member 30 with an output meeting the heat capacity of the fixing device is selected, and energized when the fixing device is not operated. |
