Process for the purification of a hydrocarbon or of a hydrocarbon cut by selective adsorption of the impurities on an appropriate adsorption mass in which the said hydrocarbon or the said hydrocarbon cut is continuously introduced into an adsorption region of elongate shape, the said introduction being carried out close to one of the ends of the said region and the said purified hydrocarbon (or the said purified hydrocarbon cut) is continuously recovered close to the other end, characterised in that the said hydrocarbon or the said hydrocarbon cut is introduced in the liquid phase and in that the adsorption mass is a mass in the form of solid particles contained in at least one element of C type comprising a container having a closed outer casing which is permeable to the fluids and impermeable to the said solid particles.
