<p>PURPOSE:To enable a user to experience and recognize the treatment of water pollution by forming the artificial sewage of a compsn. prepd. by adding biodecomposable dyestuff in addition to org. matter, nitrogen, phosphorus and trace metals to this compsn. CONSTITUTION:Activated sludge 7 are injected in a proper amt. from a container 9 into a transparent container 1 for a batch treatment disposed with an air diffuser 4 in the bottom and nutrient sources 8, such as org. matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, trace metals and dyestuff container 10 therein. City water is added to such mixture to acclimatize the mixture. The supernatant water from a level A to a level B is discharged after the acclimatization and thereafter, the proper amt. of the nutrient sources 8, such as org. matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, trace metals and dyestuff are injected into the container and the city water is added thereto to restore the level A of the water surface. The mixture is stirred by executing the air diffusion for several seconds and thereafter, the air diffusion is stopped and the sludge is allowed to settle. The supernatant color is checked at this time. The air diffusion is then executed for a specified period of time and the sludge is settled. The supernatant color of this time is visually compared with the supernatant color before the air diffusion. The fact that the polluted water is cleared is confirmed by visually observing that the color is removed.</p> |
