PURPOSE:To enhance efficiency in conveyance and to perfectly obviate the necessity of manpower in charging operation by charging a battery during robot operation. CONSTITUTION:The power supply system for automatically guided vehicle comprises a current collecting unit 50 mounted on an automatically guided vehicle 10 and a power supply unit 60 installed at a station 20. The current collecting unit 50 comprises a movable current collector 51 having a pair of contactors 511, 512 for DC and AC, an elevating means 52, a control section 40, and an optical communication unit 53 on the vehicle side. The power supply unit 60 comprises a fixed current collector 62 arranged oppositely to the current collecting unit 50 and having a pair of contactors 621, 622 contacting electrically with the movable current collector 51 at the lower end thereof when the movable current collector 51 lowers, a shutter 611, an opening/ closing means 612, an optical communication unit 63 on the station side, and a power supply unit controller 64. When the automatically guided vehicle 10 stops at the station 20, signals for opening/closing the shutter, for starting/stopping the charging operation, and for moving the movable current collector up and down are communicated between the control section 10 and the power supply unit controller 64 through the optical communication units 53, 63 to operate the opening/closing means and the elevating means thus charging the battery automatically. |
