The invention relates to a method and a device for monitoring the transparency of at least one part of a preassembled laminated glass sheet, by analysing the luminous intensity of the image of a target (reticle) seen through the said part of the glass sheet. The luminous intensity, picked up by a detector, of each point of the target (reticle) seen through the glass sheet is quantified by a number; the numbers obtained for the points of a single image are then averaged, the average obtained being compared with a preset theoretical value. <IMAGE>
