PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium which keeps excellent lubricity under various service conditions, maintains the lubricating effect over a long period of time, and is excellent in run, abrasion resistance, durability, etc. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant which is made by mixing a perfluoropolyether having terminal hydroxyl groups with a carboxylated long-chain hydrocarbon; and a magnetic recording medium which has at least a magnetic layer on the nonmagnetic support and which has the lubricant applied to the surface of the magnetic layer. |
