<p>PURPOSE:To prevent wet dust from adhering to the inner wall of the title tower, by a method wherein at the upper part of the tower, a purge gas-blowing duct is provided pointing in the tangential direction of a circle made by a horizontal section of the tower. CONSTITUTION:At the upper part of the tower, a purge gas-blowing duct 5 communicating with an exhaust gas-guiding duct 1 is provided pointing in the tangential direction of a circle made by the horizontal section of the tower in a top view and pointing obliquely to the lower part thereof (approximately at 30 deg.) in a side view. An exhaust gas is guided into the tower through the duct 1, is lowered therein, is cooled with water injected from a nozzle 3 and is exhausted from an exhaust port 2. Part of the exhaust gas is allowed to branch to a duct 5 and is blown into the tower as a purge gas. Since the duct 5 points in the tangential direction to the inner wall of the tower, the purge gas is whirled and flows along the inner wall thereof. In this way, wet dust can be prevented from adhering to the inner wall thereof.</p> |
