PURPOSE:To prevent the humidity in a culture vessel from attaining a supersaturated state, further avoid the dew condensation in the culture vessel and consequently avoid an unfavorable influence exerted on the culture of an object for culturing such as a bacterium or a cell. CONSTITUTION:The first heating units 13 and (17D) for keeping the atmospheric temperature in a culture vessel 12 at a desired temperature are arranged around the culture vessel except a recessed part (12A) and the second heating unit 14 for keeping water held in the recessed part (12A) at a lower temperature than the atmospheric temperature in the culture vessel is further arranged around the recessed part (12A). Thereby, the temperature of water held in the recessed part (12A) is kept at a temperature lower than the atmospheric temperature in the culture vessel by a desired temperature.
