PURPOSE:To provide motor controller for electric automobile in which a clutch and a motor can be protected appropriately even when clutch operation is carried out similarly to an engine vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Upon disconnection of a clutch 21, torque command value for a motor 17 is lowered by an amount corresponding to the difference of friction between a normal engine and the motor 17 to decrease the number of revolution of the motor 17 before the clutch 21 is connected. When the motor 17 has been driven at a speed higher than a number of revolution prescribed for vehicle speed, torque command value is controlled to drop below a predetermined level thus decreasing the number of revolution of the motor 17 below a prescribed level before the clutch is connected. The clutch 21 and the motor 17 are protected by avoiding connection of clutch under a state where the motor 17 has high torque and high number of revolution. |
