OPTICAL-ELECTRIC COMPOSITE CONNECTOR

PURPOSE:To make the size of an optical appliance compact and maintain the reliability of an optical transmission line by installing a printed substrate, etc., of an optical-electric conversion circuit in the inside of a joint pin tube of an electric connector at the tip end part of a cord tube and installing a clamp part of an optical cable at the rear end part. CONSTITUTION:An optical cable core wire or an optical cord 5 taken out of the end part of an optical cable 4 is connected with a joint part 6 of an optical- electric conversion circuit formed in a printed substrate 2 wherein the joint part 6 is located by a fixed spacer 3 while sufficient length is kept in the inside of a cord tube 1. A joint pin 7 of an electric connector is installed at the front end part of the tube 1 and connected with the substrate 2. Also, since an optical cable clamp part 8 at the rear end part is united with the tube 1, twisting force of the cable 4 is suppressed and the inside is prevented from being exposed due to the shrinkage of the external coating layer. Since optical fiber treatment part and the optical-electric conversion circuit become insoluble in the box of an optical appliance, the size of the appliance is made compact.
