Process for initialising a self-adaptive regulator, characterised by the following steps: - the installation to be regulated is controlled by a pure proportional corrector until stabilisation and the noise is measured; - control is effected by a digital relay and after a few oscillations the parameters of the P.I.D. are calculated; - the system looped with the P.I.D. is controlled by a digital relay and after a few oscillations an angular frequency of the looped system is measured; - the looped system is controlled by a digital regulator and an integrator in series and after a few oscillations a second angular frequency of the looped system is measured and the time constants are calculated; and - the system is stabilised at the set-point value. <IMAGE>
