A core for a dynamo machine includes several core segments which each have a layer structure made from stacking several core segment plates (5,21) together. Each plate (5,21) is formed as a sector of a circle and has a magnetic yoke region (7,22) on the cog side and a rear magnetic yoke region (8,23) connected along a contact line (9,24). The length of this line (9,24) is such that the cog side yoke region has several teeth (6). ADVANTAGE - Deformation of teeth in circumferential direction reduced. Easily assembled.
