There is an increasing problem with theft especially of motorcycles, but also of unmotorized bicycles and cars. Virtually all owners of bicycles carry bulky locks, optionally provided with a chain in order to attach a vehicle to a post or tree - cf., for example, Dutch Laid- Open Specification 86.00801. Particularly in the case of motorcycles, a bulky lock of this nature has to be stored in the limited baggage space or, owing to the high speeds involved, has to be secured tightly against the vehicle. The present invention provides a device for attaching a vehicle thereto and protecting it against theft, comprising: - a foot which is provided with anchoring means for anchoring the foot; and - a flexible component which is undetachably secured to the foot and is provided with an eyelet to which a lock can be attached.
