<p>A method for preparing polyamide comprising reacting carbon monoxide and the reactant pair <CHEM> and H2N-Ar<2>-NH2, wherein -Ar<1>- and -Ar<2>- are each independently selected from the group consisting of aromatic and heteroaromatic moieties having a total of ring carbons and heteroatoms of from 6 to about 30, in the presence of solvent and a catalyst. The catalyst is a compound of a metal selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium and nickel.</p> |
